Doughnuts for Brunch?

This week the Kavie Stahl team decided to swing by Good Dough, in the San Marco area, to check out what all the hype was about. We were not disappointed!

When you are going to do something like eating doughnuts for brunch it is important  to keep in mind the old adage “Everything in moderation”. Well, as soon as we saw the selection, that went right out the window and landed with a thud onto Hendricks Avenue.

As you can see in the picture above, we got a half dozen. In order, from top left to bottom right: Roasted Strawberry, Key Lime Pie, Butterscotch Bacon, Brown Butter, Fluffernutter, and the Molly Ringwald. Okay we lied earlier…we got 7. The other, not pictured, was Glazed Blueberry Cake. Think… blueberry muffin meets glazed poundcake.

These small batch, hand-crafted confections are fantastic. We highly recommend  making the trip, but don’t expect to pack in a full day behind all that sugar. Maybe a Tuesday wasn’t the best choice. Thank goodness they also served up some delicious cold brewed coffee!

This small local shop is just another reason that the San Marco area is growing and thriving. It is a foodie’s paradise for sure. Just around the corner are many small streets lined with beautiful old growth trees and charming homes that look as though they were ripped from the colorful pages of a story book.
