Mayport

Farthest north, the historic village of Mayport is home to casino boats and seafood restaurants offering their freshest catch in Jacksonville – including the local specialty, Mayport shrimp. Mayport is home to Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, providing what many consider to be Jacksonville's favorite biking and hiking trails. The park also offers camping and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding wilderness.

Atlantic Beach & Neptune Beach

South of Mayport are the communities of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach. The intersection of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach is where you will find the Beaches Town Center. A local favorite, the Beaches Town Center offers unique dining, diverse shopping options, and an exciting nightlife scene.

Jacksonville Beach

The southernmost neighborhood is Jacksonville Beach. JAX Beach is the perfect place to catch waves, get a tan, and get the family together for a fun filled day in the sun. The area also offers great Spring and Summer events that include music festivals, the Moonlight Movies Series, and the Summer Jazz concert series. Nightlife is also hot in JAX Beach, with local breweries, oceanfront clubs, craft cocktail bars, and intimate pubs.

Transportation

Bridges

Jacksonville is known to many as "The River City". In the Jacksonville Beaches and Mayport area, there are bridges over the intracoastal waterway on Wonderwdood Drive, Atlantic Boulevard, Beach Boulevard, and J. Turner Butler Boulevard.

Directions from Downtown

Take the Mathews Bridge to the Arlington Expressway/Atlantic Blvd. east until you reach A1A. Turn right to go to Neptune and Atlantic Beach, left for Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beaches. There is plenty of free parking at the beaches and two city-owned lots that charge a small fee during the summer.
